Mission
Youth Elect is on a mission to create spaces for young people in Omaha to learn how to build power, navigate our local government systems, embrace community and our ability to take collective action, and advocate for policies that improve the quality of people’s lives for generations to come.
Michaela Atkins
Michaela Atkins is a passionate community organizer, advocate, and speaker dedicated to empowering others to recognize their own voice and power. With a deep commitment to uplifting Black and Brown experiences, Michaela brings heart, authenticity, and intention to every space she enters.
Marissa Vallecillo
Marissa Vallecillo is a community organizer, connector, and a youth advocate. As a third-generation Mexican American who was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, she finds joy in using her lived experiences as a means to support others in the community. Marissa is passionate about seeing more BIPOC youth in politics and making spaces for them to learn about those institutions.
